The “Not mentioned” label means that ChatGPT did not mention your brand in its response to that specific query.
The message about web search simply indicates that ChatGPT did not perform any live web search during the query session, which is why no sources or citations are available.
Please let us know if you would like assistance optimizing the prompt to encourage source-based responses. We’re happy to help.

Hi, thank you for your reply.
I'd like to know why ChatGPT did not perform any live web search during the query session; Perplexity and Gemini don't seem to have this error.

Hi, thank you for your follow-up.
ChatGPT does not automatically perform a live web search for every query. It only triggers a search when the model determines that real-time or external information is necessary. In this case, it generated a response using its internal knowledge, which is why no web sources were included.
It’s also possible that since your brand was not referenced in the response, there was no need for the model to consult external websites.
Platforms like Perplexity are designed to search the web by default, which is why they consistently return citations.
To encourage source-based responses, prompts can be structured more explicitly. For example: “List the top platforms for buying crypto and include recent web sources or citations for each recommendation.”
Please let us know if you have any further questions. We’d be happy to assist.
